An ancestral passion

Aimé Arnoux

Since 1717, vine cultivation has been perpetuated in the Arnoux family: a tradition and a heritage that is first and foremost a passion.

Even today we vinify our Crus with the utmost respect for ancestral traditions, in order to offer and restore all the authentic flavors of our terroir and a complete range of wines from the Rhône Valley.

The 40-hectare family property extends across the Garrigues plateau, located to the west of the appellation: the result of a geological fracture, it extends as far as Châteauneuf du Pape.

Its great peculiarity lies in the clayey limestones and rolled pebbles, which at night restore the heat stored during the day, thus allowing the grapes to ripen optimally.

The history of the Arnoux et Fils winery begins in 1717, when Count François de Castellanne, owner of vast territories, donated a vineyard to Pierre Bovis, ancestor of the Arnoux family.

In 1936, Aimé Arnoux, considered the father of the winery, began to enter into contracts with neighbors to access prestigious appellations such as Gigondas and Châteauneuf, with the aim of offering a complete range of wines from the Rhône Valley.

Today the family business is managed by Aimé’s grandchildren, Marc and Jean-François.
