Corvina: the pillar of venetian oenology.
The Corvina grape represents a pillar of Venetian and Italian oenology, contributing with its unique characteristics to the production of high quality wines with great personality.
This grape is a native variety of Veneto, mainly grown in Valpolicella, an area renowned for the production of high quality wines and is highly appreciated for its ability to produce complex and long-lived wines.
Corvina berries are medium in size, with a thick and resistant skin, dark blue in color. One of the distinctive characteristics of the Corvina grape is its high acidity and tannin content, which contribute to giving the wines a robust structure and notable aging capacity.
Wines produced with Corvina grapes are known for their aromas of cherry, plum, spice and almond, with a persistent finish and pleasant complexity. Its versatility also allows the production of fresh and fruity rosé wines.
Corvina is extremely versatile: it is the main ingredient in Valpolicella, a light and fresh red wine, as well as Amarone, a robust and complex wine made from dried grapes.
It is also used in the production of Recioto, a sweet wine always obtained from dried grapes.
