Sauvignon Gris: a Bordeaux gem with unique character.

Varietal

Sauvignon Gris

Sauvignon Gris is a variety of pink grape which represents a mutation of the better known Sauvignon Blanc.

Originating from the Bordeaux region in France, this grape is less widespread but appreciated for its unique characteristics. The bunches of Sauvignon Gris are small and compact, with gray-pink berries, from which the name derives.

From an aromatic point of view, Sauvignon Gris offers a complex and varied profile. The wines obtained from this grape have fruity notes of peach, apricot and citrus, together with floral hints and spicy nuances.

Compared to Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris tends to develop a greater aromatic intensity and a fuller and rounder structure, with good acidity which guarantees its freshness.

Sauvignon Gris produces high-quality, distinctive and refined wines that lend themselves well to both young consumption and moderate aging. Sauvignon Gris wines are often appreciated for their versatility and ability to accompany a wide range of dishes: from seafood to white meats, through fresh cheeses and grilled vegetables.
